The CFIA has the authority to seize, detain and/or dispose of food products that do not meet Canadian requirements. All food products listed below have been found to be non-compliant with one or more of our regulations.

Reasons for disposal
Food products can be seized, detained and/or disposed of for a number of reasons. These reasons are grouped in the following categories:
- allergens (egg allergy, milk allergy, peanut allergy, seafood allergy (fish, crustaceans, shellfish), sesame allergy, soy allergy, sulphite sensitivity, tree nuts allergy, wheat allergy)
- biological hazard (such as Salmonella, Listeria, E. coli, mould, yeast, Campylobacter, other)
- chemical hazard (such as cleaners, additives and preservatives, pesticides, toxins, drug residues, other)
- physical hazard (such as glass, metal, wood, other)
- other non-compliance (such as inaccurate or misleading labelling, compromised container integrity, short net weight, decomposition, lack of proper documentation, other)
All listed food products have been removed from the food supply in a safe manner, thereby preventing their entry into the Canadian marketplace.
The CFIA has the authority to seize, detain, and/or dispose of products through the:
