CFIA Advises Establishment 120, Ferme de gibier
El Rancho ltée
, of Non-Renewal of Operating Licence

October 2, 2015, Ottawa: The CFIA has advised Establishment 120, Ferme de gibier El Rancho ltée, a quail slaughterhouse located in Saint-Édouard, Quebec, of the non-renewal of its operating licence and consequent expiry of the licence effective September 30, 2015.

The CFIA had suspended the operating licence of the establishment in June 2015 after determining that the development, maintenance and application of its required HACCP plan, pre-requisite programs and other control programs did not meet the requirements of the Meat Hygiene Manual of Procedures and the Food Safety Enhancement Program (FSEP). The establishment had not resumed operations since the suspension.

The CFIA refused to renew the operating licence because the measures that would have corrected the non-compliances that led to the suspension had not been taken.

There is no recall associated with this non-renewal.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended, cancelled or refused renewal for failure to comply with relevant Acts and Regulations administered and enforced by the CFIA. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its website.
