CFIA Suspends the Operator's License of Establishment 588, Nutri-caille Ltée

September 14, 2015, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the operator's license of Establishment 588, Nutri-caille Ltée, effective September 11, 2015. The establishment is a federally registered quail slaughterhouse in Sainte-Hélène-de-Bagot, Québec.

The registration was suspended because the operator was unable to develop, maintain and apply its Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system, as required by the Meat Inspection Regulations, in order to ensure water quality, to provide efficient ventilation and to set adequate pest controls.

There is no recall associated with this suspension.

The company will not be able to resume operations until a CFIA inspector has determined that the required corrective measures have been taken.

Licenses and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its web site.
