Effective November 28, 2016, the establishment was allowed to resume operations.

November 28, 2016, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the operating licence of Vantage Foods Inc., a meat processing establishment located in Belleville, Ontario, effective November 27, 2016.

The operator's licence has been suspended because the operator failed to meet the regulatory requirements related to ventilation as required by the Meat Inspection Regulations, 1990.

There is no recall associated with this suspension.

The operator will not be able to resume activities related to the processing of meat products until the CFIA determines that the required corrective measures have been taken.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended, cancelled or refused renewal for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its website.
