CFIA Suspends Registration of Establishment 90, Can-Pacific Farms Inc.

May 6, 2013: On April 26, 2013, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) suspended the registration of Establishment 90, Can-Pacific Farms Inc., in Surrey, BC due to non-compliance with the Processed Products Regulations (PPR). The establishment is a seasonal processor of frozen blueberries.

There is no food safety risk associated with this establishment and this suspension. The company is currently not producing any processed blueberries for export or interprovincial sale.

The company’s registration was suspended after it failed to implement corrective actions addressing issues concerning operations, sanitation, cleanliness, storage, and unavailable or inaccurate documentation.

The CFIA safeguards food, animals and plants which enhances the health and well-being of Canada's people, environment and economy, and access to international markets. Licences and registrations of registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failing to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations.
