Invitation to comment: Inspection modernization

OTTAWA, June 1, 2012:  The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is inviting comments on how the Agency will strengthen food inspection in Canada.

The CFIA is designing a single and consistent approach to inspection that will be applied across all food commodities that are either imported or produced domestically.

There are multiple ways to provide input during the consultation.

  • Complete the online survey: Improved Food Inspection Model - The Case for Change
  • Send an email to: modele-inspection-model@inspection.gc.ca with your feedback no later than July 31, 2012. Clearly indicate "CFIA inspection modernization" in the subject line.
  • Send a fax with your feedback no later than July 31, 2012, to 613-773-7569. Clearly indicate "CFIA inspection modernization" in the subject line.
