Recommendation 1.1:
Develop and formally implement an outcomes based performance measurement strategy for FSAP related activities.
Agree

The CFIA agrees with this recommendation and the following actions have been undertaken:

  • A review and revision of the Food Safety Action Plan (FSAP) performance indicators has been undertaken for the ongoing FSAP program;
  • The review will serve as the basis in the development of performance indicators for food safety activities as whole within the CFIA. This approach will ensure:
    • consistency with the CFIA change agenda;
    • all indicators for food safety are measurable;
    • performance measures are aligned with corporate reporting.

The finalized performance measures for food safety, implementation approach and targets, where applicable, will be presented through Agency governance prior to full implementation in the summer of 2013.
