Ottawa, November 17, 2011 - TORONTO, Nov. 16, 2011 /CNW/ - The LCBO today recalled 10 products from the Woody's line of alcoholic vodka beverages and suspended sales of these products after detecting glass particles in some bottles.

This recall was initiated by the LCBO following last week's recall of Woody's brand Mexican Lime Alcoholic Vodka Beverage.

The 10 products being recalled are:

  • Orangetini Orange Vodka Cooler - 4 X 330 mL
  • Pomtini Vodka & Pomegranate Cooler - 4 X 330 mL
  • Woody's Blackcurrant & Apple - 4 X 330 mL
  • Woody's Light Orange - 4 X 330 mL
  • Woody's Pink Grapefruit - 4 X 330 mL
  • Woody's Refresher - 4 X 330 mL
  • Woody's Light Raspberry - 4 X 330 mL
  • Woody's Vodka Cola - 4 X 330 mL
  • Woody's Sasparilla - 4 X 330 mL
  • Woody's Party Pack (mixed flavours) - 12 X 330 mL

"In the interest of customer safety and in consultation with the supplier and their Ontario agent, we recalled these products immediately after our quality assurance staff confirmed the presence of glass particles in some bottles," says Dr. George Soleas, Senior Vice President, LCBO Logistics & Quality Assurance.

The problem appears to be related to the bottling process. Customers returning bottles of this product to the LCBO will receive a full refund.
