Ottawa, January 7, 2011 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Sun Fung Foods (Canada) Inc. are warning people with allergies to egg, gluten, and soy not to consume Ideal Food brand Ideal Spicy Bake Mix described below. The affected product contains egg, gluten, and soy proteins which are not declared on the label.

The affected product, Ideal Food brand Ideal Spicy Bake Mix, is sold in 180 g boxes containing 6 sachets of 30 g each. All lot codes are affected by this alert.

This product has been distributed in Ontario.

There has been no reported allergic reaction associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to egg, gluten, and soy. The importer, Sun Fung Foods (Canada) Inc., Toronto, Ontario is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recalls.
