Allergy Alert - Undeclared sulphites in Haldiram's Nagpur brand Petha Cubes Indian Sweets
Ottawa, April 21, 2011 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Quality Natural Foods Ltd. are warning people with allergies to sulphites not to consume Haldiram's Nagpur brand Petha Cubes Indian Sweets. The affected products contain sulphites which are not declared on the label.

These products have been distributed nationally.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to sulphites.
The importer, Quality Natural Foods Ltd., Scarborough, Ontario is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
