Advisory details

Ottawa, June 3, 2011 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and T&T Supermarket Inc. are warning people with allergies to peanuts not to consume North flavored Pastry brand Black Sesame flavored Pastry. The affected product contains peanut which is not declared on the label.

The affected product, North flavored Pastry brand Black Sesame flavored Pastry, is sold in 480 g packages bearing UPC 4 712318 880231. All lot codes are affected by this alert.

This product has been distributed in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.

There has been one reported reaction associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to peanuts.

The importer, Uncle T Food, Richmond, BC, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
