Advisory details

Ottawa, June 9, 2011 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and T&T Supermarket Inc. are warning people with allergies to shrimp not to consume the North flavored Pastry brand pastries described below. The affected products contain shrimp which is not declared on the label.

All lot codes of the following North flavoured Pastry brand products are affected by this alert:

These products have been distributed in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.

There have been no reported allergic reactions associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to shrimp.

The importer, Uncle T Food, Richmond, BC, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
