Ottawa, September 1, 2011 - The public warning issued on August 30, 2011 has been expanded to include additional products.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Indianlife Food Corporation are warning people with sensitivities to gluten not to consume the Indianlife brand Papadums described below. The affected products may contain gluten which is not declared on the label.

The following Indianlife brand Papadums, product of India, sold in 120 g packages bearing codes up to and including "11238", are affected by this alert:

These products have been distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec and may have been distributed nationally.

There has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious reaction in persons with sensitivities to gluten.

The importer, Indianlife Food Corporation, Burnaby, BC, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
