Advisory details

Ottawa, February 3, 2012 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Kuo Hua Trading Company Ltd. are warning people with allergies to peanuts not to consume Mic's brand Sesame Brown Rice Wafer described below. The affected product may contain peanuts which are not declared on the label.

The Mic's brand Sesame Brown Rice Wafer, product of Taiwan, is sold in a 190 g package bearing UPC 4 713002 001369 and lot code EXP. 21.11.2012.

This product has been distributed in Ontario and British Columbia.

There has been one reported allergic reaction associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to peanuts.

The importer, Kuo Hua Trading Company Ltd., Markham, ON is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
