Ottawa, February 9, 2012 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Canadian Hazelnut Inc. are warning people with allergies to milk not to consume the Canadian Hazelnut brand chocolate products described below. The affected products contain milk which is not declared on the labels.

The following Canadian Hazelnut brand products are affected by this alert:

The affected products contain no lot codes.

These products were sold from the retail outlet located at Canadian Hazelnut Inc. at 6682 No. 7 Highway, Agassiz, British Columbia.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk.

The manufacturer, Canadian Hazelnut Inc., Agassiz, BC, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
