Updated Allergy Alert - Undeclared milk in Crown brand Bitter Chocolate Coated Cranberries, Hazelnuts and Almonds
Ottawa, October 29, 2012 - The public warning issued on October 26, 2012 has been updated to include additional products.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to milk not to consume Crown brand Bitter Chocolate Coated products described below. The affected products may contain milk which is not declared on the label.
These products were distributed in Quebec and Ontario and may have been distributed in other provinces.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these product.
Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk.
The importer, Aliments Altra Foods Inc., Anjou, QC is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
