Ottawa, April 29, 2013 - The public warning issued on April 26, 2013 has been updated to include additional distribution information and an additional product.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Hevy D’s Old Fashioned Kettle Korn are warning people with allergies to milk not to consume the Hevy D’s Old Fashioned Kettle Korn and Co-Op Gold brand popcorn products described below. The affected products contain milk which is not declared on the label.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk.
The manufacturer, Hevy D’s Old Fashioned Kettle Korn, Vernon, BC, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
