Rodney Checkowski Convicted of Violating the Health of Animals Act
Brandon, Manitoba, July 22, 2011: On April 16, 2010 in Manitoba Provincial Court, Mr. Rodney Checkowski was convicted of violating the Health of Animals Act.
Mr. Checkowski was charged with failing to present his animals that were located in an eradication area to be tested for tuberculosis, contravening Section 73.1 of the Health of Animals Regulations.
Judge Combs sentenced Mr. Checkowski a total of $1,500 in fines payable by April 2011. Note: On March 2, 2011, as part of the ruling on a second violation, Mr. Checkowski was granted a one-year extension to pay this fine.
