The Executive Vice-President (EVP), as part of the President's office, performs duties and functions similar to the President. The EVP acts as President in the President's absence.

Carolina Giliberti

Carolina Giliberti was appointed Executive Vice-President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), effective August 5, 2014.

Before joining the CFIA, Ms. Giliberti served as Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Service Management at Service Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada.

Ms. Giliberti has also held two consecutive Assistant Deputy Minister positions at Health Canada, first in the Public Affairs, Consultation and Regions Branch (2006-2008) and then in the Regions and Programs Branch (2008-2010).

Prior to becoming an Assistant Deputy Minister, Ms. Giliberti spent 22 years working at the Department of Justice, where she held various policy, research and program positions.

Her breadth of experience has positioned her well to effectively lead large organizations through the challenges they face as they modernize to better meet the needs of Canadians.

Ms. Giliberti holds a Master of Arts, Criminology, from the University of Ottawa, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario.
