CFIA Executive Vice-President

The Executive Vice-President (EVP), as part of the President's office, performs duties and functions similar to the President. The EVP acts as President in the President's absence.

Carolina Giliberti was appointed Executive Vice-President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), effective August 5, 2014.

Before joining the CFIA, Ms Giliberti served as Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Service Management at Service Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada, from July 2010.

Previously, Ms Giliberti held two consecutive Assistant Deputy Minister positions at Health Canada, first in the Public Affairs, Consultation and Regions Branch (2006-2008) and then in the Regions and Programs Branch (2008-2010). She also held various policy, research and analysis positions at the Department of Justice.

Ms Giliberti holds a Master of Arts, Criminology, from the University of Ottawa, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario.
