European Union (zoning) - Disease Freedom Recognition

The European Union is officially recognized by Canada as free of certain diseases listed in the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) Terrestrial Animal Code.

1. Does not include Sardinia (Italy) at this time.

2. Does not include Lithuania, Bulgaria and Romania at this time. Germany, France, Hungary and Slovakia are Designated Free countries by CFIA, even though outbreaks of Classical swine fever in the wild boar reservoir are reported regularly. Import conditions for pork and pork products exist for these countries.

3. Does not include Bulgaria at this time.

4. Does not include Italy at this time.
