Herds infected with anaplasmosis in Canada in 2009

The CFIA conducts a national Bovine Serological Survey every three-to-five years, in order to measure the prevalence of anaplasmosis, brucellosis and bluetongue in Canada. Through the survey, the CFIA collects random blood samples from cattle at slaughter for testing.

In addition, anaplasmosis is a reportable disease under the Health of Animals Act. This means that all cases must be reported to the CFIA.

The following table lists herds confirmed to be infected with anaplasmosis in Canada in 2009.
