The CFIA conducts regular surveillance for bovine cysticercosis at federally registered slaughter establishments. Early identification and continued surveillance is key to early control of any disease outbreak.
In addition, bovine cysticercosis is a reportable disease under the Health of Animals Regulations. This means that all cases must be reported to the CFIA.
