Claim 1: For the removal of mature and immature roundworms (Ascaris suum), nodular worm (Oesophagostomum dentatum), mature and immature whipworm (Trichuris suis) and small stomach worm (Hyostrongylus rubidus) and lungworms (Metastrongylus apri and M. pudendotectus).

Level of Drug:

A total of 9 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight to be administered over a period of 3 to 12 days, as per the following table.

Directions:

Feed the complete feed as the sole ration at a level of 3 kg/100 kg body weight/day for the feeding period selected. If 3 kg of feed per 100 kg of live body weight of pigs treated is not sufficient to maintain the animals for 24 hours, additional non-medicated feed may be offered to appetite. No other medicated feed should be administered during the treatment with this medicated feed.

Caution:

  1. Do not use in feed containing pellet binding agents (Required on premix and supplement labels only).
  2. Consult a veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism.

Claim 2: For the removal of Gastrointestinal worms: Adult and developing 4th stage larvae of stomach worms (Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia ostertagi), intestinal worms (Cooperia punctata C. oncophora, C. pectinata, C. mcmasteri, Trichostrongylus colubriformis, Nematodirus helvetianus. Bunostomum phlebotomum, Oesphagostomum radiatum), and the adult stomach worm (Trichostrongylus axei). Lungworm: Adult and developing 4th stage larvae of lungworm (Dictyocaulus viviparus).

Level of Drug:

5 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight; fed as a single dose, or divided and fed over a period of one to six days.

Directions:

Level of the drug in the complete feed is to be such that cattle will consume a dosage of 5 mg fenbendazole per kilogram of body weight in a single feeding or over a one to six day period.

Warning:

  1. Cattle treated with SAFE-GUARD must not be slaughtered for food use for at least 13 days after the last treatment with this drug.

  1. Do not use in feeds containing pellet binding agent (premix and supplement labels only).
  2. Consult a veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism.
