ALLERGY ALERT

UNDECLARED WALNUTS IN BELLA CUCINA DEATH BY CHOCOLATE COOKIES

OTTAWA, August 30, 2007 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to walnuts not to consume Bella Cucina Death by Chocolate cookies. The affected product may contain walnuts which are not declared on the label.

The affected product, Bella Cucina Death by Chocolate Cookies, is sold in 6 oz (170g) packages bearing UPC 19193 00020.

The affected product was sold from two Chintz & Company stores, located at 1238-11th Ave SW, Calgary, Alberta, and 950 Homer Street, Vancouver, British Columbia.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to walnuts.
