UNDECLARED MILK AND EGG IN PARADISE BAKERY APPLE FLIP AND VARIOUS FRUIT PIES

OTTAWA, July 10, 2008 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Paradise Bakery are warning people with allergies to milk or egg proteins not to consume the Paradise Bakery brand Apple Flip and various fruit pies described below. The affected products contain milk and egg which are not declared on the label.

The following Paradise Bakery products are affected by this alert.

All products bearing a Best Before date up to and including July 22, 2008 are affected by this alert.

These products have been distributed in Newfoundland.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.

Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk or egg proteins.

The Manufacturer, Paradise Bakery, Paradise, NL is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
