OTTAWA, October 17, 2008 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with sensitivities to sulphites not to consume Cedar Phoenicia brand Greek Golden Peppers described below. The affected product contains sulphites which are not declared on the label.
The affected product, Cedar Phoenicia brand Greek Golden Peppers, product of Greece, is sold in a 1.5 L jar bearing UPC 0 62356 54160 6.
This product has been distributed nationally.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with sensitivities to sulphites.
The CFIA is working with the importer to have the affected product removed from the marketplace.
