OTTAWA, November 14, 2008 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and AFC Food Group are warning people with allergies to milk not to consume Fresh 2 Go Beef Tortellini. The affected product may contain milk which is not declared on the label.
The affected product, Fresh 2 Go brand Beef Tortellini, is sold in 2 package sizes, 350 g bearing UPC 0 59749 87838 8, and 700 g bearing UPC 0 59749 87841 8. All Best Before date codes of this product are affected by this alert.
This product has been sold at A&P, Dominion, Loeb, Metro, The Barn and Ultra stores in Ontario.
There has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of this product.
Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk proteins.
The manufacturer, AFC Food Group, Woodbridge, Ontario is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
