OTTAWA, August 5, 2009 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to milk not to consume the Bite brand Korean Biscuit described below. The affected product contains milk which is not declared on the label.
All codes of the Bite brand Korean Biscuit, sold in 160 g packages bearing UPC 8 801544 130091, are affected by this alert. This product is known to have been distributed in Ontario and Quebec. However, it may have been distributed nationally.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk proteins.
The importer is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
