11.7.3 El Salvador

11.7.3.1 General information

Trading parties are responsible for obtaining the required import licence from the El Salvadorian import authorities and for ensuring that any veterinary requirements appearing on the import licence, or other official import documents required by the importing country, are corresponding with the export certificate issued by the CFIA.

11.7.3.2 Import prohibitions or restrictions

• Establishments must be approved by El Salvador authorities.
  *Refer to Annex 1 for the list of approved establishments*

  Note: In order to obtain approval, an on-site inspection must be conducted by El Salvador authorities. Trading parties are responsible to cover the costs associated with the inspection.

• Beef: in addition to the establishment's approval requirements outlined above, only boneless beef products derived from animals aged less than 30 months is eligible.

11.7.3.3 Specific or additional inspection procedures

11.7.3.4 Additional certification

In the case of beef products annex A must be issued.
