Allergen Control Program

3.11 Allergen Control Program

Meat Inspection Regulations, 1990 Requirements:

57.2

  • Every operator shall carry out control programs in accordance with the FSEP Manual and the Manual of Procedures to ensure that
  • (c) the requirements of the Act and these Regulations are met in respect of the registered establishment, equipment, food animals, meat products, ingredients, food additives, chemical agents, packaging and labelling materials, training and any other requirement of a control program set out in the FSEP Manual and the Manual of Procedures;

Ensuing Policy Requirements

Where there is a risk associated with the use of ingredients or components of ingredients identified as allergens in an establishment, the operator shall have an effective allergen control program in place. The allergen control program shall be developed and carried out in accordance with the FSEP Manual allergen control program requirements.
