Proactive Disclosure
Invasive species are non-native plants, animals and micro-organisms that spread when introduced outside of their natural distribution and cause
serious and often irreversible damage to Canada’s ecosystems, economy and society.
Preventing and managing invasive species will strengthen Canada's long-term competitiveness, protect its natural environment, and contribute
to the well-being of its citizens.

Information we provide to the general public includes:
- Be Aware and Declare! - Every
traveller entering Canada must declare all food, plants, animals and related products because they could affect Canada's animals, plants, and
natural habitats.
- Don't Move Firewood - Firewood can carry small but harmful hitchhikers that are often
hidden in the bark or wood.
Information we provide to the plant industry and scientific community includes:
