Origin & Breeding History: 'Agmontis' resulted from the cross between S509-2 and an unnamed variety, made in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands in 1998. S509-2 was a purple flowering ageratum with compact growth habit.

Tests & Trials: Tests and trials for 'Agmontis' were conducted in a polyhouse during the summer of 2003 in St. Thomas, Ontario. Trials included a total of 15 plants of each variety. Plants were grown from unrooted cuttings, rooted May 30, 2003 (week 22) and transplanted into 11cm pots on July 8, 2003. All colour characteristics were determined using the 2001 RHS colour chart and measured characteristics were based on ten plant measurements.
