'Argyrantis' resulted from the open pollination between 'Harvest Snow' and an unidentified male parent selection of Argyranthemum frutescens. The resultant F1 seed was harvested in September 1998 and subsequently sown in a field trial in April 1999. A single plant was selected in the summer of 1999.

Tests & Trials: Tests and trials for 'Argyrantis' were conducted in a polyhouse during the summer of 2003 in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included 15 plants of the candidate and reference variety. Plants were grown from unrooted cuttings, stuck on May 30, 2003, and transplanted into 15cm pots on June 28, 2003. All colour determinations were made using the 2001 RHS colour chart and measured characteristics were based on ten measurements.
