Summary: 'OHMADCAMA' has a smaller, more compact plant growth habit than 'Supalife'. 'OHMADCAMA' has a shorter, narrower leaf than 'Supalife'. 'OHMADCAMA' has a longer ray floret length than 'Supalife'.

Description:

'OHMADCAMA' has a bushy rounded, compact growth habit with dense branching. The leaf blade has an attenuate shaped base and an acute apex with a mucronate tip. The upper side of the leaf blade is medium grey-green in colour.

'OHMADCAMA' has a thin peduncle and double flower head type. The ray florets are straight along the longitudinal axis and are medium in length and width. The upper side of the ray floret is white in colour. 'OHMADCAMA' begins flowering early and flowers for a long period of time.

Origin & Breeding History: 'OHMADCAMA' originated from a controlled breeding program during February 2002 at Winmalee, New South Wales, Australia. The female parent was a proprietary selection, characterized by its semi-double, pink coloured flowers. The male parent was a proprietary selection, characterized by its compact habit and single flower form. The initial selection was made in September 2002 and asexual propagation since than time has been through the use of vegetative cuttings.

Tests & Trials: 'OHMADCAMA' was tested in a polyhouse during the spring of 2005 in St. Thomas, Ontario. Trials included 15 plants of the candidate and reference varieties. Rooted cuttings were transplanted into six inch pots on March 12, 2005. Observations and measurements were taken on 10 plants of each variety and all colour measurements were made using the RHS Colour chart 2001.
