Variety Description

Variety used for comparison: 'Fidahcali'

Summary: The predominant leaf type of 'KLEDH13033' is pinnate whereas the predominant leaf type of 'Fidahcali' is simple. The inner side of the ray floret of 'KLEDH13033' is mainly red darkening slightly towards the base with yellow secondary colour whereas the inner side of the ray floret of 'Fidahcali' is mainly yellow with red secondary colour.

Description:

PLANT: semi-upright growth habit, short to medium height
STEM: green

LEAF: predominantly pinnate type, absent or weak prominence of wing, medium length (including petiole), medium width, low to medium length to width ratio, medium green on upper side, weak glossiness on upper side, smooth or very weakly rugose surface texture, raised veins
LEAFLET: oblanceolate shape, acute base, few to medium number of incisions of medium depth along margin (excluding lobes)

PEDUNCLE: short to medium length, green tinged with brownish red or purple
FLOWER HEAD: positioned high above foliage, upright to semi-upright attitude, semi-double daisy type, no collar segments, small diameter, few to medium number of ray florets
RAY FLORET: short to medium length, broad to very broad, very low to low length to width ratio, in cross-section moderately concave at mid-point and weakly concave at three quarter point from base, no rolling of margin, longitudinal axis is weakly incurved along distal quarter, absent or very weak twisting, mamillate shaped apex
RAY FLORET (INNER SIDE): more than two keels, two colours, main colour is red (RHS 44A, but slightly darker towards base), secondary colour is yellow (RHS 9A) distributed in a solid or nearly solid pattern on distal quarter
RAY FLORET (OUTER SIDE): colour is similar when compared to colour of inner side
DISC: medium diameter, orange before and at anther dehiscence

Origin & Breeding History: 'KLEDH13033' originated from a hybrid cross conducted in August 2008, in Stuttgart, Germany, between two unknown parents. From the resulting progeny, seedlings were selected in May 2009 for their medium, compact growth habit, leaf and branch quality, and flower size, colour and shape. The selections were evaluated in greenhouse trials in Stuttgart in May 2010 to assess disease resistance and flower performance. 'KLEDH13033' was selected in May 2012 for commercialization.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'KLEDH13033' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2014/1525, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office, in Angers, France. The trial was conducted in 2015 by the National Institute of Agricultural Botany, in Cambridge, United Kingdom. The colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
