Origin & Breeding History: 'DDIASC990' was bred and developed by the breeder Gavriel Danziger in Moshav Mishmar Hashivam, Israel. 'DDIASC990' originated from an open pollinated cross, conducted in April 2010, between the proprietary female seedling 'DI-10-1730' and an unknown male parent. A single plant was selected from the resultant seedlings in July 2011. Selection was based on mounding plant habit, good branching, improved summer heat tolerance, and pure white flower colour. Asexual reproduction of 'DDIASC990' was first conducted by vegetative cuttings in July 2011.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'DDIASC990' was conducted in a polyhouse during the summer of 2016 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 15 plants each of the candidate and reference varieties. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 15, 2016. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants of each variety on May 13, 2016. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
