Origin & Breeding History: 'FRI0613' was discovered as a whole plant mutation of the variety 'Sun Parasol Red Emperor' by Sietse Elsinga at Frisia Flora Ghs, Beamsville, Ontario in 2013. 'FRI0613' was selected for its flower colour, flower abundance, and long flowering period. Asexual propagation of 'FRI0613' was first conducted using softwood cuttings in July 2013.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'FRI0613' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2015 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 15 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on March 30, 2015. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants or parts of plants of each variety on June 17, 2015. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
