In September 2009, 'Meimirrote' was selected from the resulting hybrid Rosa seedlings based on its spreading growth habit, attractive foliage and flower colour.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'Meimirrote' was conducted outdoors during the summer of 2015 at Variety Rights Management in Oxford Station, Ontario. The trial included a total of 15 plants of the candidate variety and 5 plants of the reference variety. All plants were grown in 22 cm pots spaced 45 cm apart. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of plants, of the candidate variety, and 5 plants, or 10 parts of plants, of the reference variety in early September 2015.
