In June 2010, seedlings were selected and evaluated in greenhouse trials from February to June 2011 and in 2012 in Stuttgart, Germany. This variety was selected based on flower colour and size, good branching and production characteristics. In August 2012, a single seedling was selected for commercialization and named 'KLESG12346' in Stuttgart, Germany.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'KLESG12346' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2015 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference varieties. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 13, 2015.
