Figure 2.2 illustrates the number of grant of rights and grant of rights renewals from 1993 to 2000. The chart shows the upward trend over this time period, from 51 grants of rights in 1993 to 193 in 2000. Renewals ranged from approximately 50 in 1994 to almost 500 in 2000.
