Figure 2.3 illustrates the total number of applications and rights granted for horticultural crop kinds, from 1992 to 2000. The chart shows an upward trend for new applications and grants of rights over this time period. There were 149 new applications filed in 1992 and 322 in 2000. There were 45 grants of rights in 1993 and 142 in 2000.
