Figure 2.5 illustrates the total number of agricultural and horticultural Plant Breeders' Rights applications and grant of rights from 1992 to 2000. The chart shows an upward trend for new applications and grants of rights over this time period. There were 163 new applications filed in 1992 and 405 in 2000. There were 51 grants of rights in 1993 and 193 in 2000.
