The 2009 PPV Summer Survey began on May 20th. The first samples were taken from homeowners located in the town of Grimsby. As of July 1st, 3,736 homeowners have been sampled and a total of 6,307 samples being taken. One residential sample has tested positive for PPV. Orchard sampling began on May 26th in Windsor Ontario and on June 2 in the Niagara. As of July 1st, 2009, 257,552 samples have been taken with the combined efforts of CFIA and Agricorp on an expected total of 850,000 for the entire 2009 survey. There are seven confirmed positive samples located in seven different blocks.
