The 2009 PPV Summer Surveys have been completed. Throughout the summer survey CFIA visited 5,684 homeowners and took 11,597 samples. Four residential homes have tested positive for PPV. As part of the orchard survey, a total of 816,000 orchard samples were taken with the combined efforts of CFIA and Agricorp. The CFIA has confirmed 142 positive samples located in 108 different blocks all located within the Niagara Quarantine Area.
The survey activities have been completed. Ten orchard blocks at three different farms have been sampled. A total of 66 samples have been collected and all tested negative for PPV.
