AGRICULTURAL FEATURES
High yielding variety with high number of tubers per plant and very low
tuber deformities. This variety should be grown with an in-row spacing of 30
cm. Tubers are concentrated in the hill, which facilitates harvest. High
specific gravity. Medium dormancy period. Good storability; maintains excellent
chip quality in long-term storage.
REMARK: AC Glacier Chip can be stored at 8 °C instead of 10 °C
which is the conventional temperature for chip stock. The advantage for
producers is longer maintenance of chip quality and fewer storage problems.
- Utilization: no after cooking discolouration and low
boiling sloughing; excellent chip quality.
- Chief Market: chipping.
REACTION TO DISEASES
Moderately resistant: early blight.
Moderately susceptible: common scab, verticillium wilt.
Susceptible: late blight.
