GENERAL

• Origin & Breeding: bred by Agriculture Canada Research Station from the cross (F68061 x F66011) in Fredericton, New Brunswick, in 1974.
• Year registered in Canada: 1993
• Registration number: 3466
• Maturity: mid-season

BOTANICAL FEATURES

• Plants: medium large, upright to spreading; stems green, angular; narrow wings; nodes not swollen.
• Leaves: medium green; semi-open; midribs and petioles not pigmented.
  Terminal leaflets: broadly ovate; tip acute to acuminate; base generally truncate and symmetrical.
  Primary leaflets: four to five pairs; narrowly ovate.
• Flowers: white corolla with cream star; deep yellow anthers; buds white with a trace of lilac.
• Tubers: oval to oblong, slightly flattened (small tubers are round); smooth buff coloured skin; shallow eyes, except medium deep at the bud end; white flesh.
• Sprouts: spherical; medium red-violet colouration and medium pubescence at the base; tip closed without pigmentation or pubescence.

AGRICULTURAL FEATURES

Medium high yielding variety; medium dormancy period; medium specific gravity. Tubers tend to be large; in row spacing should be 20 cm to avoid oversized tubers.

• Utilization: good to excellent chipping quality, especially after long storage and reconditioning; good for boiling and baking.
• Chief Market: chipping.

REACTION TO DISEASES

Moderately resistant: common scab, PVY.
Moderately susceptible: verticillium wilt (V. dahliae).
Susceptible: leaf roll, rhizoctonia, early blight, pink eye in wet soils.
Very susceptible: late blight.
