GENERAL

• Origin & Breeding: bred by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Research Center in St. John's, Newfoundland, from the cross (Mira x F5318), in 1965.
• Year registered in Canada: 1981
• Registration number: 2167
• Maturity: mid-season

BOTANICAL FEATURES

• Plants: medium large, erect; stems generally not pigmented except slight colour toward leaf axils; slightly waved, rough wings; nodes very slightly swollen.
• Leaves: medium green, moderately shiny upper surface; very slightly pubescent lower surface; midribs not pigmented.
  Terminal leaflets: acuminate tip.
  Primary leaflets: four pairs; slightly acuminate tip.
  Secondary leaflets: alternate pairs; pointing backward; may be fused to primary leaflets.
• Flowers: numerous; medium large white corolla, slightly tinted at base; orange anthers; bronzy green buds, slightly pubescent, pointed sepals; frequent berry production.
• Tubers: round to oval with slightly depressed heel; smooth white skin, slight purple colouration may develop, especially around the eyes, on exposure to light; medium-deep eyes; creamy white flesh.
• Sprouts: reddish purple; base slightly pigmented; apex strongly pigmented and pubescent.

AGRICULTURAL FEATURES

High yielding variety; good storability, medium dormancy period; high specific gravity.

• Utilization: excellent boiling and baking quality.
• Chief Market: fresh market in Newfoundland.

REACTION TO DISEASES

Resistant: potato wart (races 2, 8).
Moderately resistant: late blight.
