GENERAL

• Origin & Breeding: bred and selected by D. MacKelvie from (President x Flourball) in Arran, Scotland, in 1924.
• Garden Variety
• Registration in Canada: exempt
• Maturity: late

BOTANICAL FEATURES

• Plants: upright, medium height, open; stems few, many branches near the base, tinged with pink; wings wavy on upper stems.
• Leaves: open, long, broad, slightly drooping.
  Primary leaflets: narrow, medium to dark green, thick, on long petiolules; leaflet lobes even.
  Secondary leaflets: small, medium in number.
• Flowers: few to rare, white, on small heavily pubescent brown buds, on short peduncles.
• Tubers: oval, blunt, indented at the stem end; pale yellow skin; medium-deep to deep eyes; creamy white flesh.
• Sprouts: red purple, sparsely pubescent.

AGRICULTURAL FEATURES

Medium to high yielding, long dormancy period, stores very well.

• Utilization: fair to good for boiling and baking.

REACTION TO DISEASES

Immune: potato wart.
Resistant: phoma rot.
Some resistance: common scab, fusarium dry rot, late blight, skin spot.
Susceptible: powdery scab, tuber net necrosis, verticillium wilt, viruses A and X.
Highly susceptible: black leg, leaf roll, virus Y.
