Following recommendations from the scientific advisory panel, responsible for the analysis of the data generated from the Canada/United States PVY survey conducted on three consecutive seed potato crops, the field generation 2 (G2) PVYN testing requirement has been discontinued in both Canada and the United States for the 2007 seed potato crop and beyond.

The CFIA, USDA-APHIS and industry representatives from Canada and the United States have mutually agreed with the recommendation to discontinue testing of field generation 2 for PVYN in its present format.

As such, D-02-08 is being repealed.
