Seed Program Modernization
The objective of the Seed Program Modernization Initiative is to improve the policy, regulatory and institutional frameworks that govern seed in Canada. To that end, the CFIA undertook consultations over the last several years to elicit views on concrete proposals for change and to identify additional issues that deserve consideration.

Proposed Ammendements to the Seeds Regulations
The Agency is proposing to streamline registration requirements for oilseed soybean and forage varieties. The comment period will run until May 23, 2013.
Proposed Amendments to the Weed Seeds Order, 2005
The consultation closed 2011-09-15.
The previous consultations were held in February 2010. The results of the previous consultations will be combined with those of the current consultations. The combined results will be considered during the regulatory process.
